BPMN Activities and the Relationship Matrix
« on: February 15, 2008, 01:09:26 am »
I have a problem with BPMN activities not showing up in the relationship matrix.

When I add BPMN activities to my diagram I need to remove the value in the stereotype field for this activity in order for it to appear in the relationship matrix! In other words I cannot use stereotyping if I want to analyse activities using the relationship matrix.

This is frustrating since I am modelling in BPMN, and a BPMN activity representing a subprocess (ActivityType=Sub-Process) does not look like a BPMN subprocess unless stereotype=Activity... Argh!

Have anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

Hi Tore,

I don't understand the problem you have. I have a BPMN diagram which I relate to a requirements diagram through a relationship matrix. I have only activities and when I have to model a subprocess I just set the tagged value "ActivityType" to "sub-process".

Please, tell me more detailed if you still have problems.

  Regards,

  Ivan

Tore,

Here's some obvious questions, but that's the kind that trip us up...

Does anything show up in the matrix? Have you tried fiddling with other settings, in case you've somehow filtered your (or all) stereotypes out? Can you show any stereotyped UML elements?

David
No, you can't have it!

Yes, I´ve tried that. And "everything" shows up in the matrix just fine... :-/

Try this:

On the Relationships Matrix, click the option button. From the menu choose Options | Include Metaclassed Elements.

Did that solve the problem?
