Assign a existing requirement into a usecae
« on: February 26, 2008, 09:40:31 pm »
I have begun by adding all of my usecases into the requirements model and then moved  on to create my use cases. I cannot however find a way of embedding / assiging the existing requirements within the usecases without rewriting them all creating duplication. How can I do this??

There are two kinds of requirements in EA, internal and external. Internal you may find in the Requirements tab of a Use Case, External are elements outside the use case.
If I understand you well, you want to have one requirement realized by two usecases. For this you have to use the External one (Requirement element). Setting the realization can be done in different ways. A) drag a requirement in the Project Browser and drop it onto (into) the usecase on diagram, B) have both elements on the diagram and connect them, or C) use Relationship Matrix (see help). I use A) and for checking for completeness I use c).
