Linked document
« on: February 27, 2008, 08:58:14 pm »
Hi,

there is a good functionnality which allows to link a document to any component.
It's easy, I just have to "right click" on a component and select "Linked document...".
It opens the RTF editor.
Now you can save your document.

But...
There is no way to know which component has a linked document!!! Even in the "project" view.
The only way is to right click on each component, and when you see "delete linked document" in the contextual menu, then it means there is a linked document!!

Very strange behaviour. Do you know a way to:
- know quickly whether a component has a linked document (like a "star"  or a different color etc etc)
- see all the linked documents

thanks you for your help

To the best of my knowledge there is none.
Of course you could have a linked document template which has a special ID somewhere and then generate a report.
That way you could just look for the ID and identify the linked documents and objects.

This is some overkill, of course, but you asked for a solution ;)

I thought there was something about that in 7.1, at least for some element types. Take a look at the release notes.
No, you can't have it!
