How to maximize a sub-window to full screen size ?
« on: March 19, 2008, 07:08:11 am »
Assume I have EA opened with a certain project.
One of the currently displayed sub windows is the "logical Diagram" window in the center.
Is there a way to (temporarily) maximize this window to full screen?

Other development tools offer in such situations a double click onto the top title bar of
the sub window and let the window be maximized (and later minimized) this way.
Obviously this is not the case in EA. Or do I have to switch on an option for this?

Is there alternatively a hotkey for this?

Peter,

I believe this is possible, and was introduced in 7.0 or just last week in 7.1.

That said, try it out in case I'm talking through my hat (yet again).

No, you can't have it!

You should find a command 'Full Screen' under the Window menu.

Is there a way to define a shortcut for it?

Tools | Customize | Keyboard.

Category - Windows
Command - Full Screen.

Thanks. I simply was too lazy to look for it ;) Would be handy if it had some kind of predefined shortcut (not knowing which key would be free an meaningful, though).

This is NOT possible (at least not in Version 7.0).
Do I have really have to install v7.1 ?

Is there a way to update an existing installation from 7.0 to 7.1
without having to un-install the old and completely install the new version?

Check the History link on the Enterprise Architect page at [url]http://www.sparxsystems.com/products/ea_history.html[/i].

The summary of new EA 7.1 features includes, under the Improved User Experience heading: "Full Screen Mode capability - Window/Full Screen in the main menu."
No, you can't have it!

What I do is just rename the EA.exe (e.g. to "EA7.0.818.exe") before installing the new version. Then you have the choice of executable to double-click.

How do I get the small floating 'Full Screen / Close Full Screen' indicator window to disappear? It can be a distraction when doing a presentation.
