Interaction Occurrence
« on: March 28, 2008, 04:26:05 am »
Hi,

I'm new to EA and just can't work out how to use partial interaction occurrences. I want to include a section from one sequence diagram in other sequence diagrams as a *ref*, but it appears to only be possible to reference an entire diagram. To clarify, I want to be able to use an interaction fragment on one diagram as an interaction occurrence in another diagram; this is standard UML 2.0, so it should be possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. For reference, I'm using the 30 day trial version of the professional edition, v7.1x, and this could be a deal breaker!

Cheers.

In a separate but related post, 'jamessher' suggests using a 'seq' fragment for partial diagram re-use. This would work, but the helpfile's definition of the seq interaction operator is not what I'm after:

"Indicate that the Combined Fragment is weakly sequenced".

Any ideas which is the correct method to use? I really want to use 'ref' but can't..
