Setting up CVS with ext protocol
« on: April 25, 2007, 10:29:23 am »
Hi there,

Is anybody using EA with CVS with a protocol other than pserver?

I started a proof-of-concept project for using EA in our team using version control, and setup a local repository with CVSNT and used the pserver protocol with no problems.

Now that I want to deploy the project to an enterprise-wide CVS repository that only handles ext, ssh and extssh, EA is giving me all kinds of errors that cannot connect.

I have tried installing the OpenSSH that comes with Cygwin because the initial error I was having was that EA through CVS could not connect to the server via SSH.

Has anybody successfully created an EA project with CVS?

Thanks,

-Emilio Suarez

Late reply, but I am doing this using ext and Tortoise CVS.  We use putty for SSH.  Biggest trick is that you need to set the environmental variable CVS_RSH to point to the plink.exe or you will get the error you describe.
