Oracle Designer Import?

Hi:

Is there a way to pull in a data model from Oracle Designer into EA? This will help me with traceability between object oriented and relational worlds that are using separate tools.

Off hand I think the only way would be brute force. Create an empty Oracle database from Designer, then connect EA to it and do the import.

Not what you wanted to hear, I guess.

Perhaps someone else has come up with a way...

I am afraid that I might lose a lot of information in your brute force method (e.g. documentation)...albeit I am sure I would get a skeleton of sorts.

I cannot remember if EA picks up documentation from Oracle databases. Something in the back of my memory says this might be a one-way thing, in the 'wrong' direction.

As I said, watch this thread for a while, and search the forum. Someone might have tried this before.

Bumping the topic because I'm also very interested in this question.

We have a very large project with the database model maintained through Oracle Designer.

Now we are using EA for the complete software development life-cycle and there's no need to maintain the database model in two diferent CASE tools so, we would like to migrate all Oracle Designer information to EA.

Is this possible?
