How to store custom profiles with model
« on: May 15, 2008, 04:20:53 pm »
Hi,
I am trying to define profiles for our company for stereotypes, toolboxes, etc and would like to have them stored in the model itself.
I started out playing with an MDG technology file and this works OK but each user has to get the file and install it.

However, I was able to define stereotypes in a profile and import them via Resources and they seem to be included in the model itself - which is what I am trying to do. I need now to try it out for toolboxes, etc.

Am I going about this the right way ? If I define profiles for stereotypes, toolboxes, etc and import via Resources will they be included automatically in the model such that when other users open the model the profiles will be present without them needing to install/import them explicitly ?

Thanks

Hi James,

Importing a technology (in the Resources window) will work for stereotypes, but not for custom diagram profiles or toolbox profiles. For those you will need to reference your technology with "Settings > MDG Technologies".
