Move element in project browser
« on: July 04, 2008, 09:50:59 pm »
Hi All,

I've mistakenly clicked move element in the project browser in my Class diagram. Now any new classes that I create no longer appear in alphabetical order in the browser - they instead appear at the top of the package. How do I get it back to automatic alphabetical order?

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

This is one of those things you cannot find until you already know where to look.

Look in the EA Help index for Free Sorting. I think that will fix you up.

No, you can't have it!

Hi David,

Thanks for this - Free sort was not enabled - but it's something I will be using in the future! It did however put me on the right track which enabled me to find this...

'Move Components Within a Package in the Project Browser'

'To move a diagram, child package or element within its parent package, click on it in the Project Browser window and click on <uparrow> or <downarrow> in the toolbar at the top of the window. {Edits by Roy, for clarity.}

You could move Class3 in the Project Browser above Class1, or move the Actors package underneath Classes A.

To revert to listing components in alphabetical order, right-click on the package and select the Contents | Reset Sort Order menu option.'

Thanks!
