how to version control "reference data"
« on: July 10, 2008, 12:54:17 pm »
Hi all,

My EA project is set up as a shared model in which some Packages are version controlled XML files (using SVN). Each user owns their own EAP file and these are not synchronized. In this arrangement, I am looking for a way to version control the reference data using EA version control.

I've seen the "Export Reference Data" function. My question is how to keep the reference data synchronized across my (version control) users.  Is the only option to version control the exported reference data outside of EA and tell my users to update and re-import as necessary?

thanks,

Owen

Hi Owen,

This has come up before. I don't know if there is a solution at this time. Search the forum; the answer (at least at a yes or now level) is in here somewhere.

No, you can't have it!
