Timing Diagram Properties
« on: August 07, 2008, 10:04:22 pm »
Hi,

I work with EA version 6.5 and I have the following problem. I would like to use a timing diagram to represent how my scheduler works.
When I put a timing diagram on the sheet the x-axis is scaled from 0 to 100.
Question: how can I modify the scale of the x-axis ?
I have already seen several examples with another scale but nowhere is explained how we can modify this  :o

Thanks

Chris

Look up the Timing Diagram page in the EA Help file. [That's the name of the page, but it is buried several levels deep in the Contents list under the UML Dictionary tree.]

Click the Set a Time Range link on that page and you'll find the dialog you need.

Hi David,

thank you for your quick answer !  ;)
Unfortunately there is no link "Set a time range" on the "Timing Diagram" page in my EA Help File.  :-/
Can you copy the concerning part of your help file ? (printscreen or only txt) :exclamation

Thanks

Chris

Hi David,

I missunderstood you  ;) I searched first in my help...
Then I searched in the online EA user guide:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/EAUserGuide/
As you said: it is really buried  8-)
UML Dictionary -> UML Diagrams -> Behavioral Diagrams -> Interactions Diagrams -> Timing Diagram -> Set a Time Range !!!!
But unfortunately it only concerns the latest version  :-/ Unfortunataly  I have version 6.5.798...
Do you know how to modifiy this x-axis this, on my version ?

Thank

Chris

Unfortunately I don't have a version 6.5 help file, let alone an installation, handy to check this out for you.

There are some - quite a few if the number of posts to the forum is any indication - shops still using EA 6.5 out there. Somebody must be doing this kind of stuff. Surely the ability to set the time line has been around for a long while.

Anyone know the 'old' way to do this?

In EA 6.5.806, you right-click the diagram and use the command "Set Timeline Range" - same as the current version (7.1.831). The secret is to right-click empty space in the diagram, not right-click the timeline object.

Hi,

it works !
By this version we should only right-click on an empty space in the diagram.

Thank you both for your help !

Thanks Neil,

It had been so long I forgot.

[Versus everything else, which I'd forgotten for other reasons. Sigh...]
