Needed language pack - German language support
« on: September 29, 2008, 07:28:15 pm »
Hello!

I am facing a problem when drawing diagrams and giving descriptions in German language. The English version of EA doesn't support German specific letters (Umlaute). EA User Guide tells to install a language pack and directs to download it here http://www.sparxsystems.com/registered/reg_ea_down.html

Unfortunately, I cannot find this file in this area.
Does anybody know how to handle this issue?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Best regards.

Galina

First, EA is a unicode compatible application, so you can enter any unicode character regardless of the language of the UI.  The problem is more likely that the database being used doesn't support unicode.

If you're using eap files, turn on Jet 4 support and download a Jet 4 base model from the resources section of this website.  If you're using another database, I don't know the exact instructions, but you should be able to do it somehow.

The only language pack I can think of for EA, would be a spelling dictionary.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure where you would find that.
