Noob Question on customizing RTF Template
« on: January 03, 2008, 08:53:33 am »
Hi community,

also with the help/online help I couldn't figure out how to insert correctly from within the RTF generator a Field.

I'll explain better: what I want is to have automatically on the first page of an generated RTF-Report information like Filename, Create-Date, Last Save Date (MS Word).

I tried to use for this the RTF TemplateEditor>Insert>Field function by entering the Word Field Codes for above information, but on the rtf - output they don't show up as expected, instead the parser adds the value "Mergefield" at beginning of each Field I defined.

What doI wrong? Or isn't this possible?

Thanks in advance
George

Not sure if this is where you are after.

When you open the template editor, put the cursor where you want the field to appear and select table from the top menu.

This allows you to insert a row, or a column.

Same Problem here.

Isn't there any workaround? I tried to add things like create date and filename using tagged values. But its really annoying to have to edit these values every time, when creating a report.
