EA and Serena Dimensions CM
« on: February 12, 2009, 03:53:16 am »

Has anyone tried to use EA with the Serena Dimension CM tool? I tried to set it up as a 'SCC' type in EA and it seems to work and bring up the client to Dimensions where I then enter in my password. However I then get the following error from EA ....

Error: The valid IDE_PROJECTS does not include an entry for the IDE EA500

Thanks

Hi, I don't log onto the forums very often but spotted your post. I have been succesful in the past at getting EA to work with Dimensions. You need to get your Dimensions Admistrator to log on to the Dimensiosn Admin clinet and add "EA500" to the IDE_PROJECTS set in the valid set definitions. Howver this has to be added to every Dimensions Product as these definitions are scoped to Products. If you put it in the GENERIC product then all new products created thereafter will have the value in. Give thata try and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the help. That seems to be working.
