Customization of maintenance view item status

I'm looking for a way to define my own status for maintenance items in the maintenance view.
Currently using the maintenance view to define a defect, change, issue or task, I can only choose a status between "New", "Verified" or "Complete". I would like to define my own status but can't find a way to do it. Any idea ?
