We have an extensive repository maintained with Sparx EA 7.1.829, if we switchover to the most recent client tomorrow will our repository be compatible?

Client?

If you are asking if the file formats of EA 7.1 and 7.5 are compatible, yes they are.
No, you can't have it!

We have our model in a MySQL schema, I am wondering if the new client can access this schema without causing issues. If we can change all of our clients over to the new version, will our model still be usable? Or is there some migratory procedure that needs to take place?

If there are any database changes that need to be done they will be executed the first time a client of the new version connects to a model (database).
We just upgraded from 6.5 to 7.5 and the new version is fully compatible with 6.5 with exception of the auditing feature. If you turn that on it will disable the connection from 6.5 clients, but I think that feature was added somewhere in the 7.1 release.
We ran for more then a week with mixed version (6.5 and 7.5) untill all clients were upgraded, without any issues.
To conclude, upgrading to a new version of EA is completely painless and fully backwards compatible.

Thanks for the reply, the critical element was to be able to have mixed clients contributing. Its good to hear that is possible.

As always we will keep backups.
