Decomposing existing databases

Hi,

I've inherited an existing database.  I would love to be able to import it via the ODBC importer, point to a view in the db, and have EA tell me how a field returned in the view is obtained.  For example, the table.fieldname it is mapped to, or the algorithm used if it's derived somehow.

Can EA do this?  If not, can someone possibly suggest another tool that might work?
