FYI - I have confirmation by e-mail from Catch Ltd - the vendors of Screen Architect - that it is fully compatible with EA 7.5

Has there been any movement forward with this Add-In?
Seems like it has been quiet for awhile...

Hello,
We have just released a new version of Screen Architect which has major speed improvements and some bug fixes. We have performed speed tests and it looks to be 3 -5 times quicker than the previous release.

We can confirm that we have tested Screen Architect with 7.5 and have raised an issue with Sparx HQ to address prior to 7.5 full release.
1. Screenshots are not displaying in the RTF document generation.

This is being addressed and should be fixed prior to full release.

We have also been busy working on a new plug-in -
Enterprise Tester (ET) www.enterprisetester.com

ET integrates with Enterprise Architect and auto generates test scripts from use cases and scenarios.  ET then integrates with JIRA (from Atlassian) to pass issues to it. This allows end-to-end integration from requirements through test management to defect tracking.

Just FYI for everyone, sadly despite the information above I can't get Screen Architect (latest build 403 from Feb 2009) to work with EA 7.5 build 744.   It either just crashes or starts up and then crashes when you try to do something.

Graham,

Have you logged this issue? We have tested and internally our staff are using Screen Architect with the latest build with no problems.

I'll get the technical team to contact you to try and find out more information and resolve your issue.
I'd guess that something else is going on here.

I haven't logged the issue,  but I have uninstalled EA (7.5 build 844) and installed the latest 7.5 build 845, then re-enabled Screen Architect and so far things seem to be working OK.

Any plans for future updates to Screen Architect ?

Graham,

Good to hear the issue has been resolved.
Yes we have been working on Screen Architect but it has been a delayed with the release of Enterprise Tester and the recent acquistion of Cadeo for EA/QC integration has ment we are making a push to get that upgraded and a new version released.

Sorry for the delay, we are keen to add enhancements to it sooner than later.

I just installed the trial version. For the first view, it looks realy nice. The feature for positioning the elements are realy cool. What i'm missing, or just did not found, is the relation between two Screens. When i open a new Screen with a Button - the link from that Button to the Screen. To get a overview about the complexity and to check of missing connections and dead ends. That would be nice in the model view of EA.

Now i have the Question to answer - is the nicer look, to make screens clickable and  the very nice usability worth the risk to use a third party tool (incompatibilities between releases....). Or is the limited "build in" screen design functionality enough for the first step and then later on use a RIA Prototype Software?

... ist there a MDG Transformation between EA User Interface Elements and ScreenArchitect Elements planed or available?
