Floating license off-line usage
« on: June 13, 2009, 01:25:06 am »
I need to use Enterprise Architect when I'm off-line and I can't get to the keystore to get a floating license :'(

Is there a way to use a floating license as a private key so the keystore does not have to be accessed to start Enterprise Architect?

Yes.

You can set up the keystore to provide you with a 'lease' for a certain length of time. EA will not have to request the license until the lease expires. Meanwhile the keystore will decrement the number of licenses available. When the lease expires the user copy of EA will once again need to request a license, and the keystore will automatically increment the count of licenses available.

See your documentation for how to do this. It is not difficult, but you have to do it the way the keystore expects, or nothing useful will happen.
No, you can't have it!
