code generation
« on: June 18, 2009, 11:11:03 pm »
hello everyone,
I'm trying to generate codes from the class diagram these todays. It works, but I hope that the functions in the class could have contents, i mean the function body, not only the heads, ends and comments.
Is this possible for EA, if yes, can anyone explain to me how to do it?

thanks you very much!!! Smiley

Hi Susanne,

The answer is "Yes, to some extent."
You can generate code from State Machine, Sequence and Activity diagrams. Check the help file under "Code Engineering" - "Code Generation From Behavioral Model."
Good luck!

My theories are always correct, just apply them to the right reality.

But there's a catch...

Note that (at least some of) this functionality is limited to the new 'higher' editions of EA. If you have the Corporate or 'lower' edition you will not be able to perform (at least some of) these functions.

From the first bullet of the Code Generation from Behavioral Model page in the EA help: "Software code generation from behavioral models is available in the Business and Software Engineering, Systems Engineering and Ultimate editions of Enterprise Architect."

No, you can't have it!
