Off-Page Connectors in BPMN
« on: August 28, 2009, 06:16:15 pm »
Hi,

According to the Help EA supports Off-Page Connectors for BPMN:
BPMN, however, does enable you to create off-page connectors.
Unfortunately, it doesn't define where to find the off-page connectors.

I now tried to set for an Intermediate Event (unter TaggedValue) the Trigger to Link and LinkId to another Intermediate Event on another page. Nevertheless, when double clicking the Intermediate Event I don't come to the other page. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Christine

The best solution to this that I've found is to use the same element (IntermediateEvent with Trigger=Link) on both diagrams, then you can select and Ctrl+U to find element in other diagram.

Hi KP,

Thanks for the tipp. There are however to problems with this workaround:
1. you can not define one link as throw event and the other as catch event, as it should be. Since it is a copy, both have to be the same.
2. with a double click you can't reach the next page, you have to select control + U and then select an element in the diagram.

We tried to create now a new stereotype for opp-page conenctor and always copied the diagrm underneath. when I now delete one element, it is also deleted in the other, however, new elements are not inserted in both, so the copied diagrams are soon out of sync and if you have several diagrams, you soon have a mess.
