Lost project browser tool pane
« on: October 22, 2009, 06:47:52 pm »
Hi,

This is driving me nuts...it seems like a simple issue but so hard to work out! I accidentally must have chosen the option to float my project browser tool pane and now I can't seem to find it anymore! If I open a project, the IDE seems to recognize the project as being open but I can't see it anywhere..! How do I get it back? Please help!

Thanks,
Jude

There are two possibilities:
- You have closed it, open it again via "View/ProjectBrowser"
- You have changed the height of the project browser so that is is only a small line. Try to find the line and stretch it downward.

Hi,

Thanks for the response, I have tried both options and still can't locate it..Maybe I selected to hide the project browser, in that case how do you unhide it?

There is also an option to reset the windows to their default.
That might help as well.
I always forget where that option is exactly, but you should be able to find it if you search the forum for "project browser lost" or something like that.

There are other possibilities:

1)  You have floated the Project Browser right out of the EA workspace, so it is actually sitting on another screen and/or behind another application.

2) You have 'autohid' the Project Browser, so its tab is aligned with the left or right border of the screen. Click on the tab to pop it up on the screen, and click on the horizontal pin symbol in the window header to keep the window displayed.

Hiding and closing a window are effectively the same thing, so the View | Project Browser menu option should open/show the window.

The option that Geert mentions could be the View | Visual Layouts menu option. Select this, click on the Iconix option, then click on the Default Layout option. See if that helps.

Let us know if things are still not right.
Best Regards, Roy
