Justify Text
« on: October 30, 2009, 02:35:07 am »
I'm new to EA and can't find anywhere on how to justify text e.g. Left, Centre, Right.  Is there any way?

Could you clarify where the text is that you want to justify?

The notes in object properties provide very little formatting out of the box. (Tip you can paste formatting into them that can't be edited - not recommended)

You can justify text in RTF documents, eg Paragraph | Justify Both.

When generating a document you can change the "Normal" style in "normal.rtf" to be justified.

You then need to update your document template styles (all or more likely just the last one used, haven't checked) by modifying them and going
File | Update styles (I'll leave as an exercise to the reader how you find the menu with the most recent versions of EA).

I have dropped a Start Event into a swin lane diagram and can't center the text, it is by default to the left and the alignment options on the 'Element' menu are greyed out

A partial answer is given in this thread

However with the Start Event you should be able to sort this out manually. The label is resizable and movable independently of the element itself.   Select and move the element and the label moves with it.  Select the label and move/resize it and it moves on its own.  This allows you to position the label anywhere you want and so you can "simulate" centring.

Also, I believe the Element "alignment" options are used when you have multiple elements selected and want to align them,  they're not for sorting out the text displayed with an element.
