Import DB Schema from ODBC is greyed out
« on: December 11, 2009, 05:14:49 am »
I want to import a schema from SQL server however my "Import DB Schema from ODBC" option is greyed out in the menu. (Both the Project -> Database Engineering and Package context menu) I have EA 7.5 build 843 Corporate Edition. Any ideas what I may be missing?

First the obvious.  Do you have a model loaded?

Second, play around with your selection in the project browser.  I think they will be disabled for root nodes.

My manager, who has the same version installed, can right click on the package and he has the ability to click on the "Import DB Schema from ODBC" option.

Sounds like you have three options then.  :)
1) Get the manager to do the import
2) Shoot the manager and take their job
3) Read the following section http://www.sparxsystems.com/uml_tool_guide/uml_model_management/usersecurity.html

1) He said he would if needed
2) I'd rather not go to jail.
3) I'm having him look this over since he is the administrator.

Thanks :)
