"Update Styles" to load styles from norm
« on: October 09, 2009, 12:58:04 am »
Having now found out how to update Normal.rtf - very straightforward when you know how (isn't everything?),  I have now used the "Updates Styles" option in the RTF editor to refresh styles from normal.rtf into existing templates following the guidelines from the help

"Enterprise Architect supports a system template file: ‘Normal.rtf’.
This allows users to define and edit default styles and numbering,
etc. Any styles modified in this file will reflect in newly created
templates. Existing templates can also be updated to reflect
changes to the Normal.rtf, using a feature in the RTF editor: File |
     Update Styles"

This definitely loads styles that don't exist in your template from Normal.rtf,  but it doesn't seem to update existing styles e.g. Normal, Heading 1 etc..  that might already be in your template.
Anyone else seen this problem ?    I have this horrible feeling I may have to recreate all my templates.

I'm in the same boat. I really don't want to have to recreate all of my templates. The help specifically says:

"Existing styles are not replaced. "  >:(

So how do I update the styles in my existing templates? Maybe through exporting the template as an RTF and manually replacing the style definitions???
