UML Profile - default values for  standard fields
« on: October 15, 2008, 09:00:59 pm »
I'm creating a UML profile for our strategy project to  create stereotypes such as Business Objeective, System object  and Wish

In the wish i want to include some default  text  to  appear  in the Notes, how do i do this?

Perhaps through a template package. Look under Template | Package, Settings in the EA help index.

You can add these as a profile in your technology. The entry in the EA help index is just before the one I sited above.

One caution though: I do not know if a template will allow you to add default notes text. You'll need to read through or perform experiments yourself.

I'm assuming this won't work because the documentation states that stereotyped elements override the Template Package

So much for my assumption.

Creating a Template Package with the appropriate stereotyped element with the  required  template text in the notes filled worked brilliantly.

Excellent!

And thanks for posting back Paul. The rest of the community now has another technique to choose from.
