SQL Server vs Oracle 10g
« on: January 29, 2010, 08:26:46 am »
Trying to determine which DBMS to work with: SQL Server
(have both 2000 and 2008) or Oracle 10g.  Would welcome your recommendations.
Anyone know what the original EA Deployment DBMS was?
Thanks in advance.

The original (and current) "native" RDBMS for EA is Access (Jet 3.5, which I believe = Access 97). EAP files can be loaded into access just like Access 97 .mdb files.

I've used SQL server 2008 for over a year now with no problems other than importing visio diagrams. Sorry haven't used Oracle 10g with Enterprise Architect.
Happy to help

I've used both, and I don't think there's a real difference.
Setting up Oracle was a bit more of an issue, especially getting the users to have just enough rights wasn't easy.
