Varchar(max)
« on: March 01, 2010, 04:42:28 pm »
Hi,

I see in v7.1 description that it supports varchar(max) SQL 2005 data type. How can I used that data type in data table design and do a round-trip generation of SQL and import from ODBC?

When I import a data field of type varchar(max) it gets imported as text data type.

Thanks,

Alen

You'll find SQL Server datatypes here...
http://www.sparxsystems.com/resources/

Import as reference data - then restart EA and reload your project.

Thanks a lot. That worked well.  :D

Here's some additional info for others who may be looking for the same thing:
- link to SQL 2005 data types:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/downloads/datamodeling/DDLDatatypes_SQLSvr2005.xml

Then import it through Tools -> Import Reference Data.

Cheers,

Alen
