Atomic flow port in Sysml
« on: April 14, 2010, 08:36:38 pm »
Does anyone no how to specify a flow port as atomic in Sysml? I cannot seem to find a way to specify anything other than a vanilla flow port.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gary

Please correct me if I am wrong but it is my understanding that an Atomic Flow port in SysML is one which is either strictly in or strictly out, as indicated by an arrow inside the port.

In EA there are two Port entries in the SysML Flows toolbox (applies to SysML 1.0 and SysML 1.1)

Choose the FlowPort symbol and drop it over the requiste BlockProperty. If you are using the latest build of EA 7.5, open the properties and click on the TaggedValues, otherwise, look in the TaggedValues view.

Set the TaggedValue direction to either in or out

This will apply the arrow to the port. Choosing the Port symbol, will create a plain old UML port.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Phil.
I had the right port it was the tagged value part that i had not thought of trying. So it is all ok now.
Incidently for you and any others who may come along, it works the same in version 7.1.
Thanks again.
