Forum usage
« on: June 09, 2009, 06:48:55 am »
1) I wonder if there needs to be a forum about the forum?

2) How do I attach an image to my posting. The button is there to insert an image, viz
Code: [Select]

but it seems not to work

1) Try http://www.yabbforum.com/

2) The image needs to be hosted on the web somewhere. Unfortunately, you can't just put in the name of a file from your hard drive. Google "free image hosting".

Thankyou.
But why not simply enable the facility to upload images to the forum.
Its not as if we aren't registered etc.

It would be nice if I could set my timezone, or did I miss something?

You can set your timezone by  and then:

1. Click on the link on your user name to view your profile.
2. Press the Modify button
3. Confirm your password to get to the Edit Profile page
4. Click on the Options link
5. Select your desired Time Offset
Best Regards,

Michael

Note that for some time (no pun intended) the time zones occasionally shift your posting time by an hour one way or the other. I've spent some time with Sparx on this issue, but it just seems to persist. It is most likely an issue with YABB, or how Sparx is setting up the configuration. Beyond that I have no idea. A one hour offset is not too much of a problem; I just live with it.

Thanks. It was not clear that the "Profile" block was a link/button from the "My Center" page.

Hmm, I have to use central (-6) to get my times to display correctly, even though I am in mountain (-7) TZ.

Forum usage: Date time display
« Reply #9 on: June 25, 2009, 10:16:13 am »
The forum displayes the years as "yyyy" rather than the year of posting,
viz
Quote
yyyy--Yesterday at 03:24:30
yyyy-Jun-23rd at 17:02:00

Why is this?

In fact it doesn't make much sense for yyyy-Today or yyyy-yesterday to be shown anyway.

Just checking... Are you absolutely sure that you didn't write the post in yyyy?

Try using mediafire.com - free - upload file there - easy - post a linky to it here - problem solved - there are other similar solutions.

The point is not that I can do this, but why are the forum moderators making it hard for customers and product users, when there is no need to.

It looks like you have set up a custom time format in your profile settings. You need to use YYYY not yyyy - it is case-sensitive.
