Change type of requirement
« on: May 31, 2010, 10:58:50 pm »
Hi,

I want to change the type of a requirement. I first modelled by using the EA requirements type but there exists also a type in SysML. Now I want to change the already modelled elements to the SysML requirements type but I can't find the way. Via the properties view and the nested type attribute it is not possible. The list of possible destination types do not include the SysML requiremnts type.

The difference between the types are different tagged values, which I want to use.

Any suggestion?

Fabian

Fabian,

Have you tried the menu option Element/Advanced/Change Type...?

Hi Geert,

if I try the option you adviced, the same dialog appears where I can choose only the EA requirement type.

Perhaps it is only a problem of the stereotypes and the tagged values. What I want is to get a requirement with stereotype <<requirment>> and two tagged values (id and text) as it is defined for the SysML requirements. This should be done on the base of an already existing requirment whith no stereotype.
After changing the stereotype I can't find the adequate tagged values.

In that case I'm all out of ideas, except for creating a new SysML requirement and copying the details from the old one.

Right click the element in the toolbox. Synch Stereotype.

If you drag and drop a SysML requirement from the Toolbox onto an unstereotyped requirement element, you can apply the stereotype and add its associated tagged values to the existing element.

Now I can work on. The function "sync stereotype" was that one I was looking for.
