Diagram Export/Import
« on: July 09, 2010, 03:40:48 am »
I'm working on a project and I have a coworker that has a separate copy of EA.  Is there anyway to import/export individual diagrams between projects?

Let me know.

Thanks,
Jules

Jules,

By far the best approach is to set up version control and check items in and out at the package level (included model elements and diagrams).  This makes it very simple to add an existing package to a  project.

The next best thing is to use the XMI export/import functions outside version control, but I would definitely recommend taking the time to set up version control.

Julie,

Remember that you cannot exchange only diagrams, since the elements shown on the diagram would not be present in the target model.
Therefore you have to export/import not only the diagram, but also all elements used on the diagram.
