Exporting multiple roots in one step
« on: July 09, 2010, 06:29:56 pm »
Hi,
Is it possible to export multiple root nodes to XMI in one step ?.   Batch Export seem to be applicable for packages within a root node.

Thx,
pH

Hi pH,

I didn't think Batch Export was limited to one root node.  I'm sure I exported packages over multiple roots in the past.

I tried all posibilities I could. The moment I select batch export only one package randomly gets selected. If you can provide some details would be helpful. Or not sure if some thing has been changed between the version you tried with and the my EA version (8.0.858)

I have a simple script doing that. Checking that the file is writable and launching the export.

Hi pH,

The problem may be elsewhere...  You should be able to set multiple packages then exit the dialog and reenter with those same packages still selected.   I don't have multiple roots any more (for other reasons) but I do have multiple packages selected for batch import/export (858)

What about the import dialog - does that behave any better?

What environment/configuration are you using?

Paolo

Paolo,
the problem is EA. You don't get the context menu when multiple root nodes are selected. If you choose the menu, EA selects just one (the last?) of the nodes.
