Formatting tables in RTF reports
« on: July 27, 2009, 02:51:40 pm »
Is it possible to have the cells in tables (eg in a datamodel report) set so the width varies according to the contents,
and the table set so that it uses the full width of the page (autofit to window)?

I don't want to have ragged right sides of my tables, and I am happy for table columns to vary in width between tables containing similar data because I am more concerned about keeping the page count in my documents down.

I have tried formatting the tables the way I want in word and importing, but something is lost in translation.

Any tips and hints would be gratefully received.

thanx

Simon

The answer is nope I guess.
But this is definitely a feature request.

No, the autofit doesn't work on tables with our current RTF editor.

Please send in a feature request.

I managed to create autofit tables by exporting my template to a .rtf file, opening it in Word, setting the table to autofit and importing it into EA. Works fine, although it's not the most convenient manner.

Interesting, I tried that with an earlier version of EA and Word 2003, and it did not work at all.
What versions are you using?
