Please note: Due to changed handling of Time Offsets between YaBB 1 to YaBB 2.2, users need to reset their time zone using "My Center".

In actual fact :

1) click on [My Center]
2) click on the blue square marked "Profile" (which looks exactly nothing like a button.
3) click on the "update my profile" URL
4) [OPT] take a deep breath, count to ten and then go find out where your passwords are stored in your browser
5) enter password
6) Locate your timezone, looks like it's not possible to enter "similar" but unlisted timezones.
7) click [Save] or [Update] or whatever it was (I've forgotten now)
8) Send an email to yabb suggesting they read Joel on software re UI design.

Next time I'll have a look here first. I have done the very same including password resurrection  ;)

Well, I changed the time zone and YABB greets me with Good Afternoon - at 11:00 AM

Something like that happened to me. I set the correct time zone and was seeing an hour into the future.

I gave it a while to see if I was actually viewing the future. But no sudden wealth and lottery winnings having appeared I changed my profile by an hour.

Perhaps the Sparx YABB installation has the time set wrong. Could it be that daylight time in the Land of AUS is affecting things?

I guess you'll have to change your login name  ;D

Stay logged in for "Keeps" doesn't, by the way.

For me it did (most of the time) and still does. Guess it's simply coincidence since I never knew when it kicked me out...

One thing I'm missing from the old structure was the little hierarchy at the top.

The forum jump (couldn't/wouldn't/I didn't know how to make it) allow you to jump from a topic back into the SAME category the topic was in...  However this wasn't too inconvenient since you could just click on the hierarchy at the top and it would take you to the forum of the topic.

Is there any way to jump from a topic into it's category with the new setup (apart from two operations - click home, then the category).

Just above that seems to work. Of course I've not tested to see if the result is a refreshed view.

The set of breadcrumbs at the top doesn't help since the last entry (the one I'm interested in) is NOT a link.  If this were fixed, then it should work as the old one did...

Perhaps I'm missing something. The rightmost item is not a link. The one immediately to the left is, and takes you to the current forum section.

Is that what you were getting at?

More later,
It's late here, and I need to crash...

However, now that I'm using the breadcrumbs successfully, any chance we can get them on the bottom as well?

It seems to me that the pattern language for a forum should include:

"Any navigation from this page should be consistent at both top and bottom of a page.  This is because pages can get VERY long and it is antithetical to the user (having got to one end of the page) to require them to scroll back to the other end to achieve any specific navigation".

And miss scrolling to the top of the page all the time? All that beautiful formatting - which we can select from a drop-down of one option - and you want to just ignore it? Where's the thrill in that?

Sigh...

If you direct your eyes to the bottom left hand corner of each post you will see a "Back to top" link. Clicking this link will take you back to the top of the page.
