Line jump
« on: January 04, 2011, 06:34:14 am »
Is there a roadmap to add a feature to add line jump in diagram like in MagicDraw. This option is very nice when you have many object in one diagram and that some lines intersect with one another.

Thank you.

I believe this feature is currently under development for inclusion in a future release.

Keep your eyes on the release notes of future builds  8-)

I would love to know when future builds are expected.  Any hints?
Are there plans for anymore builds for V8 or will the next release be V9?

It would be nice to have any idea of what features will be release in the next months, years... All software that I have bought have a roadmap and it is for this reason that we want to paid an annually subscribtion.

Thank you again.

I imagine it will be in version 9 as it is a major feature request that will require significant testing.

In terms of a release date for version 9, I'm not personally privy to that information, and I'm not sure if any other Sparx employee who contributes to the forum is either. My personal guess (based on previous trends) is that it will be in terms of months, not years.

If patch builds are required for version 8.0 (eg fixes for bugs that seriously impact the current functionality) then they will be released as needed.

Samual,

Judging from the past you can expect a new build about every 6 weeks. (unless there are pressing issues, in which case a "hotfix" build can sometimes be released).
If (as is the case now) you haven't seen any new releases since a while that usually means Sparx is working on a new major build.
We were expecting v 8.1 to be released at the end of next year, but now it looks like they skipped the 8.1 alltogether and they are working on v 9.0.
In that case I think they do a fair amount of test releases internal before releasing one or two public beta versions.

There are a number of diagram enhancement suggestions that have been put to this forum. Please add your suggestions there.
Sparx have said that a fair few of these have been implemented and will appear in subsequent releases.
