A report with requirements and trace to actor
« on: February 01, 2011, 08:53:48 pm »
Hi,
I need help to get started...
I have linked requirement in several steps up to an Actor.
I then have a stakeholder representing that Actor.
Now I need a way to present to that stakeholder a summary of his/hers requirements.

I could use a diagram if those were updated when I add new requiremnts. I have looked into using RTF generator, diagrams and SQL.
Does anyone have had a similar problem or have any idea on what to use?
Thanks in avance.

Two options

1) Create a diagram and add one of your actors, right-click and select Add Related Elements ... set the level to 1 and click OK. The linked requirements will be added to your diagram. Repeat for other actors

2) RTF report select the checkboxes Package, Element and External Requirements. Add the data fields you want, add the format want and print the report. Refine as necessary

Hope this helps

Cheers

Phil

Thank you. I'll look into it.
I have to add up to 4 levels and and the report must make the levels visible.

The chain today looks like this:
Stakeholder(Actor)->Stakeholder Need(Req)->Stakeholder Req(Req)->System Req(Req)-> Subsystem Req(Req)
And I have to make it possible for an Stakeholder to exactly see what requrements he is "responsible of" in a report.  :-/

You will certainly get all the related elements, for a level of 4, your resulting diagram will need a bit of tidying up (do not uncheck Auto Layout) as EA is not the best at arranging elements on a diagram  :(

Have fun!
