"You cannot drag items out of a locked package
« on: April 02, 2011, 03:19:37 am »
I get this message when I try to drag an element from one package to another. Both packages are child packages (siblings) of a version controlled package that I have checked out using EA. Neither of the child packages is a "nested version controlled package".

The way I figure it, I am the one that has locked the entire package tree, so this message makes no sense. :-? Am I overlooking something? Is it really necessary for me to check in (unlock) the package before I can move elements from one child package to another?

[EA 7.5.850]

:) 2011-04-12 Workaround Note:  I discovered that if I do a Check In followed by a Check Out then I can move elements as expected. The problem appears to be that my Subversion workspace was not showing the model package (.xml) file as being locked before the Check In--even though the package in the EA Project Browser shows the "version controlled and checked-out" icon --but it is locked after the Check Out. I don't know how my workspace got into this state.

I had this issue with subversion and it seems to be corrected with V9.

Thank you. Did you mean V8? Version 8 build 864 is the current release, so it does me no good if I need V9 to fix this issue. ;D
