How to specify defaults for new elements?
« on: April 21, 2011, 10:26:29 pm »
When I place e.g. a new class from the toolbox, I want the language to be always "C++" not "Java". The diagram and package where I place the new class both have "C++" as language, still a new class will have "Java".

Same goes for other properties - I would like to define something like a "default template" for new classes.

How do I do that?

If you can't find it in the option lookup "template package" in the help file.

Thanks!
It took me quite a while to understand it in the help documentation, but once you know how it works, it's easy!

This seems to be a recurring theme in EA - at least for me: It uses various concepts that are very hard to learn, either because the help contains only very concise information on them, or because the information is strewn over a wide range of help topics.
But once you learn them, they are very powerful and work very well.

The Code Generation toolbar also provides an option for the default language of an element.
