Initial & Merge Nodes

Hi:

Why Can I not create a control flow from an Initial State Node to a Merge Node.

I have an activity diagram with a process which can, in certain conditions, return the flow back to the beginning therefore I have put a merge node between the initial node and the first activity to allow control flow merge from the initial state and the alternate path which returns the flow back to the beginning.

However, EA does not allow me to create a control flow connector between the initial node and the merge node.

Am I doing something wrong??
