How to apply a MDG profile to an existing model
« on: July 06, 2011, 02:07:49 pm »
Hi guys,
I’ve created a MDG profile and I need to apply it to an existing model. The stereotypes in my profile contain shapes and tagged values.
It’s easy to apply them to objects as I can easily drag and drop a stereotype from the tool bar on to an existing component and everything is transformed, the shape changes and the tagged values are added.
But I’m having some difficulties with connections. Obviously there is no drag and dropping so I have to manually change the stereotype value and when I do that, the shape does change but the tagged values are not transferred.
Does anyone have any painless suggestions on how to do that? The existing model is so big that recreating it with the new stereotypes is out of question.
Cheers

Does this work for you:

after changing the connector's stereotype, right click the stereotype in toolbox. then select "synchronize stereotype". at least this should create all taggedValues on all items having this set within the model.
