Pictures in templates
« on: August 01, 2011, 04:53:48 pm »
I write instructions in the EA, using templates, I put to the instructions pictures. The problem occurs when the document is generated to .rtf (word). Around each picture differently creates a big gap. I do not know where to adjust, so that borders are "stuck" just a picture.

Well, I have the same problem with my diagrams including win32Dialog elements. I use a sheet with a european layout format "A4" and a customized RTF template. After generating of the RTF document I got also a big gap between the elements and the right and bottom border of the image. The gaps have a width of approximately one-third of the image.

Had somebody also noticed this behavior? And could give me a hint how to fix this?

Thanks and best regards,

Ralph

Hi skiwi,

jepp, here it comes:

My EA version:

Here my dummy diagram in EA:

Here the snippet of the RTF/PDF generation:

And now a screenshot with the option "Divide Diagram into Multiple Pages":

Sorry the big images …  ::)

The properties of the diagram for the page setup is "A4 Sheet, 210- by 297-millimeters" without any further configuration.
My user in Windows 7 Professional has a German localisation.

Hope you can see my problem and give me a hint!  8-)

Best regards,

cu .. Ralph

I think it's related to the win32 diagram type.

Thanks for your answers!

I tried out to use the standard user interface and got the same result. Then I check the statement of Simon and could confirm that the "Win32 User Interface Diagram" type is the problem. If I use for example the ERD diagram type the problem disappeared!

Should we set up a issue for this case?

I solved the problem easily :-) Just check the menu Appearance Hide name under the image.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your hint, that solves your own problem.
My Problem has a similar behaviour with diagram elements and not with pictures. If you use elements in the diagram you cannot set the appearance "Hide Name Under Image", this option can only use with images.
My problem is also easily to solve! Use not the win32 diagram type, use for example the custom diagram type and the problem is gone.

Thanks for your reply and have a nice day.

Best regards from the sunny southern Germany …  ;)
