Linking requirements in the matrix
« on: January 24, 2012, 04:26:00 am »
Hi All

I am in the midst of creating a Vision document which should contain only high-level business needs/requirements. In holding several JAD sessions I elicied both business and functional/non functional requirements.
To organize this I have created a series of packages containing high-level business requirements. I then created a master package containing functional/non functional requirements.

'K so far???

I then open the Relationship Matrix and try and create links between functional/non-functional requirements that "map" to the parent, high-level requirement. When I click on the "intersection cell" in the Relation Matrix between these Requirements all I get is a greyed out "Create Relationship" and I cannot create anything....

I have done this before in V7.5 but cannot seem to do this now???? I am running version 9.2.921 using a shared key and a local .EAP file

One thought: Direction must be set to either "Source -> Target" or "Target -> Source". If it's set to "Both" the matrix will be read-only.

If that's not the problem, check the locking status of your elements.
