Discussion on EA Add-In licensing functionality?
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:16:14 pm »
IIRC there was (fairly) recently a discussion on the forum about EA's License management events (I think Geert was involved).

I can't find it in the search.  Can a kind soul:
1) Confirm there was such a discussion
2) Point me to it please?

TIA,
Paolo

The way I read the help file, when EA starts up, if it finds a licence key in the list that it doesn't understand, it calls EA_AddinLicenseValidate in the Add-ins.  The Add-In validates the licence and tells EA via the return.

Consequently, whatever happens, it's the Add-In's responsibility to confirm or deny the licence key validity.

Correct?

Yes, the functionality allows add-ins to validate their own keys through the license management dialog provided by EA.
