"EA doesn't do ANYTHING properly"

Paolo - I saw you mentioned in another thread that EA doesn't do anything properly - but it must have something for you to use it.  Perhaps you could explain what that is ?

I will not take part in that discussion (again). However, let the games begin!

I have to concede that I'm pretty much of the same view.

I've had my say over the 6+ years I've been using EA.

However I note that my full quote was:

But Phil, you've been around EA long enough to know that it doesn't do anything properly.

Somewhat paradoxically, it's (sort of) one of its strengths.  If you can't get it to do what you want one way, you often can get at it another way.
I've also said in some of my tag lines:
"Using EA in spite of EA - not because of it".

Qwerty and I have had similar views about EA for most of those 6 years.

I suspect we're a bit like boiled frogs... We now know how to get EA to do what we want but it is (has been) SOOO (in our view - stop me if I'm putting words in your mouth, q - unecessarily) hard...  There needs to be a MAJOR incentive to move us out of the pot...

I sort of agree with Paolo.
EA is the cyclops in the land of the blind.
It's sometimes ugly, big and stupid, but its better then the rest out there.
And after years of training the damn thing some of us now have it housebroken and can get it to do what we want.

I must admit that I've sort of given up to ask for any improvements. In stead I just add them myself if needed.
That's how the EA Navigator came to be.

Paolo,
you know we're one heart and one soul when it comes to EA. So I wholeheartedly agree with what you said.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH

howdoesthishappen?

I am happily sitting in the middle of the whole damn continent of Australia.  I WAS conversing with my daughter in Geneva via some Mac type of internet chat thingo and all I did was ask her how she hurt her ankle skiing.  Instead of an answer I got a google page on which, about the third item was a link to this thread.

Strangely enough, the character sequence "Paulo F Cantoni" still remains etched in my brain.

Currently, we are based at a little place called Yalata, about half way between Cenduna and the WA border.  The best thing you can say about it, is that there is actually some tar on the road.  Which is a lot better than a lot of other places we have been this year.

But I digress, well not.  You guys from the northern hemisphere can google map Yalata,  you might find some photos but I guess they haven't "street viewed" it yet.

So why in the great scheme of the universe, when I am happily drinking beer and (still) blowing up holes in the ground, does UML and EA still come back to haunt me.  Do I have to take it with me to the grave?  Shhhheeeeeesh.

Ah, anyway. After so much time it's good to see you lot are still carrying and waving the flag.  Good luck to you all.

...

and if youse haven't worked out who it is yet
cheers
