Export UML-Types and Project Types (Status...)
« on: April 03, 2012, 05:34:37 pm »
Hi!
When I export a Model which is using own Stereotypes and own Statusses via XMI, those UML types are not exported / not imported into the target system (I am doing from EA to EA). Is there a way of including them in XMI?
I heard that there is an option "Full EA round-trip" but I don't find such an option. I am using EA 9.3.
Thanks!

I think you need "Project|Model Import/Export|Export reference data"

Base Project for many others - overwriting Ref. Da
« Reply #2 on: April 03, 2012, 06:28:27 pm »
Hi Geert,
thanks  a lot for your kind help! Yes, that was answer! (I only was checking the context menu and didn't think about finding more options in the main menu).
I wonder how others are doing it: In a company I'm working with at the moment, they have a large Repository for all projects as independent models. Result is, that any change in the UML types (for example) would reflect to all models - which is really not helpful because many of them only apply to one only model. So I'd like to cut the repository in several individual ones per project and to have one leading "base project". So it is up to the project manager of the individual projects when he wants to take over an update from the base project (with possibly new Types and other changes).

Is this way of proceeding ok or not recommended? Do I run into a problem of overwriting f.ex. UML Types that in the meantime have been newly added to the specific project? Or does it overwrite only Attributes of existing Types? I'd like to know if anybody has experience with it.
