Add/ remove requirement element properties
« on: March 16, 2009, 11:37:13 pm »
Hey. Please bear with me, I'm a bit of an EA muppet.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to remove or add new requirements properties, as I seem to be a bit challenged when it comes to finding any information on how or even if this can be done.

E.g.

Currently, creating a new requirement will present me with the following property fields to complete:

Short description, Alias, Status, Difficulty, etc.

How would I remove 'Alias', for instance, as a property or add a new property of 'Flavour' or whatever.

If someone could tell me if I'm asking for something stupid, or point me in the direction of how to do it if not, I'd be dead grateful.

Cheers

The attributes displayed in the UI are static (managed by Sparx), if you wish to add additional attributes to a element, then tagged values are the way to go.

See the help on tagged values and stereotypes (better way to manage the tagged values you use with an element ype.)

I am the requirement engineering (no not an oxymoron) lead and use EA for all my requirement management and documentation needs. If you would like, send my account an e-mail and I can send you an example of a stereotyped requirement that I have shared with others. You might find it helpful.

Good luck and I hope you learn to be an EA muppeteer!

There is also other documentation on this in the whitepaper on Requirements Management: http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/resources/whitepapers/index.html

Hi all,

I have created a new type for requirements, which will be used to define each modification i have to do in elements y my system. The only thing i need to do is to add others value for the "Difficulty" combo.

So, all requirements of my type over each elements will represent an impact analisys to my system.

Is there any way to do it?

Thanks

Vi

Just heading out for the day. I have what I think is a rather robust way of doing impact analysis for CCB and ERB.

It will take a bit of time for me to get it all together in one sock, but I WILL post in in the next week or so...

Sorry for a delay, but kinda buried right now :(

CCB = Change Control Board (part of process is to review for impact)
ERB = Engineering Review Borad (determine impact of possible changes)

These boards are relatively small in size (3-5) and are made up of management, customer, and Engineering.

<still looking for a sock!!>
