Questions on RTF Reporting
« on: October 04, 2012, 02:18:15 am »
Hi all

I am facing some difficulties in RTF reporting that seem to be very stupid, but I have not been able to overcome:
1. How do I change the format of the Page Number (for instance, to arabic)
2. How do I create cross-references to diagrams so that they can be converted to "Figure 1", "Figure 2", etc. in the final document when referred through the document?

Would someone have a clue?

Thanks in advance

Ronaldo

I not aware of any means to alter the Page numbering format in the RTF editor.
With Figure numbers - in Word these use a Word Macro. These maros are not supported in the RTF editor, so the best process is to report this as text and then open the rendered document in Word and try doing a replace of the text to a figure script.

Hi, Dermot

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I was afraid of that. I developed a Word Macro to create the cross-references, but still had the hope to do that automatically within EA.

Regarding to page numbering format, it seems that, when a template is imported into EA from a RTF file, the RTF Editor preserves the formatting. The problem is that I did a lot of modifications in the template (as was expected, once the element fields must be included), and really don't intend to import it again. Well, I'll try something with exporting to RTF and re-import it back, as the XML exported does not allow the edition of the template itself - all the template is coded.

Well, anyway, thanks again
