Create DB-Update Scripts (sql)?

Hy

I'm able to create an sql-script out of my ddl to generate the database.

Now when I'm adding an attribute to my ddl, is it possible to create an update-sql-script for updating my database (which is already created)?

What is the best practice for this szenario?
