Archimate Elements and Compartments
« on: January 11, 2013, 03:00:35 am »
Does anyone know if it's possible for Archimate elements to display compartments?
For instance if I add a number of Tagged Values to an Archimate Technology Node I cannot display those values in a diagram - setting Tags to true in the Feature Visibility dialog has no effect. The tagged values themselves are stored correctly as I can see them in the Tagged Values area of the element's Properties dialog.

Yes you are right the usual way to show tag values on UML elements is to right click on the diagram properties, select elements tab and tick the Tags tick box and click on the ok  button. Unfortunately when you do this Archimate Elements don't show the tags. So the only way I can think of to fix this is to import the Archimate MDG file into resources and edit the shape script on the relevant Archimate Stereotypes to show the tag values. It means you have to learn and understand shapescripting.

Or if you are willing to sacrifice Archimate Notation just delete the stereo type in the element and it will show the underlying UML element with Tag values. However I suspect you don't want to sacrifice Archimate Notation.

The other alternative is to ask Sparx to do it for you in next release of EA. However that might be a bit of a wait.

Hope that helps
